Steve Boon, the Founder and Chairman of EPD Insulation Group, is a man who takes pride not only in his business but also in his family.
As a self-made entrepreneur who launched EPD Insulation in 2010, Steve has always believed in the power of hard work and fostering the right skills. This mindset is something he’s passed on to his grandson, Ethan, who is carving his own path while building on the family legacy.
Ethan is currently in his second year at Northampton University, pursuing a degree in Architectural Technology. His choice of study reflects a thoughtful consideration of the future, blending design with practical construction knowledge, however, Ethan’s learning isn’t limited to the classroom. During summer and half-term breaks, he works at EPD Insulation Group, specifically in the Logistics team.
Ethan began his journey at EPD in 2018, taking the opportunity to learn the business from the ground up. Whether it’s managing stock, understanding distribution, or working with the Logistics team led by Michael Boyden, Ethan is gaining firsthand experience of how the business operates behind the scenes. His willingness to get involved and learn the ropes shows the same grit and determination that Steve admired when he first started his own business venture.
For Steve, seeing Ethan grow into a promising young professional is a point of immense pride. Not only is his grandson thriving academically, but he’s also actively contributing to the family business. Steve’s role as both grandfather and mentor gives him the unique opportunity to witness how his company continues to shape and support the future, even within his own family.
As EPD Insulation Group evolves, the presence of the younger generation, like Ethan, working in key areas such as logistics ensures that Steve’s legacy is not just one of business success but also one of family values and long-term growth.
